Owners and hosts
Your 'Pure' hosts were just tourists when they visited South Africa for the first time in 2005 and instantly fell in love with it. Cape Town and it's beautiful surroundings became their only vacation destination for many years. The dream to emigrate to this wonderful country started from the very beginning.
However, it took until 2013 for that dream to take shape when they decided to run a guest house in Cape Town. Their vision was to offer as well a luxurious and relaxing place as a second home far from home.
The first guests were welcomed in October 2014. Guests are hosted and serviced by a team speaking 8 languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans.
Portia lives in Hout Bay with her two children and knows the area very well. She has been working on this estate since 2008, running the household for the previous owners.
Portia speaks English fluently, as well as Xhosa and Zulu (and Afrikaans) and applies a welcome female hand to the business. She is responsible for the housekeeping and the kitchen of Pure Guest House.
Garden and maintenance
Originally from Zimbabwe, Dickson today lives in Hout Bay with his family. He is a trained painter and responsible for all maintenance around the guest house and the pool. He also maintains the gardens and looks after our animals.
Dickson speaks English, Shona, Manyika and Ndebele. He has a fascinating hobby: he crafts animals out of wire. Some of his creations can be bought here in our guest house.
